Chile
Desert stargazing, Patagonian wilderness and one of South America's most sophisticated cities.

Why Chile?
Chile is long and lean, and the best trips treat it as a series of distinct chapters rather than a single north-to-south marathon. Santiago as a base, then fly to the Atacama, then south to Torres del Paine — each one extraordinary on its own terms.
For a solo traveller, Chile is one of South America's safest and most straightforward destinations. The infrastructure is excellent, the food scene in Santiago has quietly become world-class and the landscapes reward the effort to reach them.
Why it works.
Chile is one of the safest countries in South America for solo female travellers. Santiago's Providencia and Lastarria neighbourhoods are walkable, social and very well-located. The Atacama and Patagonia are best with small-group or guided experiences — Alma builds these in where they add most value.
Best areas.
Santiago (Lastarria & Providencia)
Bookshops, wine bars, fish markets and some of South America's best contemporary restaurants.
San Pedro de Atacama
The driest desert on earth: salt flats, geysers, flamingos and the clearest night skies anywhere.
Torres del Paine
Patagonia's iconic national park: granite towers, turquoise lakes and a landscape unlike anything else on earth.
October to April for Patagonia and most of Chile. The Atacama is year-round; winter nights are coldest but the skies are even clearer. Alma plans the route around the best conditions for your specific travel dates.
Domestic flights link the main regions efficiently; within each area, a mix of private transfers, local transport and guided day trips. Alma maps the connections so the logistics are seamless and the time between places is never wasted.
